Hitting the market back in 2016, Logitech's Pop button was specifically designed for smart home devices. The Outdoor Switch is also HomeKit compatible and this open up a world of extra controls such as smart speakers, heating and more. Therefore there are 8 inputs in total but you can extend this to 12 using third party Hue apps such as iConnectHue, which adds a double-tap into the equation. Flic allows you, pretty easily, to program routines and actions as simple or as complicated as you require. The hard bit if remembering exactly what each press of each button does.
Whether it is installing smart light switches, testing the latest door locks, or automating his households daily routines, Christopher has done it all. The Eve Button combines the convenience of a button with a sleek, modern design. This beauty has a large button in the center, capable of supporting three distinct actions via a press, double press, or press and hold. The Eve Button connects to HomeKit via Bluetooth, allowing it to work without a hub and additional setup. This Z-Wave remote features 4 buttons, 3 around the edges, and single button in the middle. It bothers me that the buttons are not all equally sized, but a cool feature is that each button has raised nubs on them.

The party trick is that whenever you power on, your lights can switch to different color and brightness settings depending on the time of day. Philips Hue has recommended scenes, as well as customization through the Hue app. That simplicity is deceptive since another difference with switches is that they can be linked to multiple accessory types, not just lights. In some cases you can trigger complex scenes and automations, which is handy if there’s a series of actions you tend to repeat in a particular space.
As the connection speed is capped at up to 25Mbps for download and up to 5Mbps for upload, you may notice a difference in the speed of your service during this time. Band steering is a Wi-Fi Alliance CERTIFIED™ feature included on our Smart Modems that ‘steers’ devices to connect to the Wi-Fi band that will give them the best performance. Our Smart Modems allow you to create a separate Wi-Fi network to give internet access to guests, so they can’t interact with devices on your main network. The Telstra Smart Modem comes with band steering on, which allows your devices to automatically switch between the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz signals to give you optimal connectivity.

Eco Button has been discontinued, so you’ll have to do some online digging to grab hold of some. For almost as long as connected home has been a growing industry, some of the largest brands in the world have turned to us.
Incompatible devices should be very rare, but the Wi-Fi PMF may need to be disabled for those devices to connect. Already own some Philips Hue gear and are looking for a remote that can pull double duty? This switch comes in a familiar remote form factor that supports 10 Hue lights and can also perform up to four independent HomeKit tasks.

However, I noticed that there was a firmware update available, and once I updated it the button was a lot more responsive, although not quite as quick as the Zigbee devices I tested. This may be expected from a WiFi device, but it’s hard to justify buying this button over some of the others at the price it is at. The only reason to do so in my opinion is because of its unique look. Niu NodOn Smart Button controls your smartphone, apps and connected devices with a single press. It allows end-users to launch actions remotely on their smartphone via 3 customizable pressing options .

You also need to be in a 4G coverage area to be able to benefit from the 4G mobile backup. Here’s the example automation for toggling a lamp on or off using a SmartThings button which was added to Home Assistant. Change button_single with button_double or button_hold for automation #2 and automation #3. You can control all sorts of things with the Echo Button, even non-smarthome tasks. For this guide, we’ll be focusing on smarthome, so tap “Smart Home” on the list of options. Next, you’ll select what happens whenever you press your Echo Button.
These 3 Buttons Make Controlling your Smart Home Easier
The button itself is a fairly dull looking slab of plastic that Logitech says will last 5-6 years. There's a starter kit which comes with a button and a hub and, while the Pop buttons themselves aren't exactly expensive (at $29.99 a, er, pop), you're looking at around $60 to get started with that kit. Smart buttons are still a fairly new idea and the market isn't exactly bursting at the seams with options. However, even if more contenders do come to the party, they won't really do much more than the current offering can.

That means one gesture turns a light on and the same gesture will turn it off. The handy ‘wait’ function of Alexa routines also means it turns everything off but waits 2 minutes before shutting the blinds, thus giving me time to escape. Oh, and it turns our robo-vacuum on too, to pick up all the crumbs from all the biscuits we've eaten while putting off doing some work. Design-wise the Eve is the bulkiest beast of the bunch, although the anodized aluminum finish does look more premium than the Pop and Flic's plastic build.
This is on of the most popular buttons for Home Assistant users. It is about the same size as the Sonoff, but a but thinner, and WAY better looking. It features rounded corners which makes it comfortable to hold, modern grey and white coloring, and a large round button in the middle. The LED indicator is on the face of the switch so it is easy to see. The Klikkit Smart Button is used for simple and effective monitoring and patient activation.

But the button itself is smaller than a coin making it incredibly transportable. Because it isn't connected to any stationary hubs, you can take it anywhere with you. While the Pop's bridge allows it to work independently, think of the Flic as a remote control for an iPhone or Android device. The button connects to your mobile device via Bluetooth, which has some advantages and disadvantages.
The top button has a single nub, the bottom left has two, and the bottom right has 3. This is awesome because if it’s in your pocket or you are in the dark, you don’t have to see the remote to know which button you’re pressing. This button also has a rechargeable battery that can be charged via the micro-USB port. It also has a keychain ring that you can attach by taking off the battery cover and slipping it through a hole in the body of the button. It seems like they designed it to be something that you can carry around with you in your pocket or on your keyring, which I can see being pretty useful with those raised nubs.
Move any devices that are causing interference away from your modem. The full list of all Home Assistant compatible & recommended devices I use can be found on my Equipment List page. That’s all there is to adding SmartThings buttons to Home Assistant without needing to use the official SmartThings integration with hassio. For this step, you should already have the Zigbee Home Automation . If you don’t, check out my How To Add Z-wave and Zigbee devices to Home Assistant guide. After that, I can add another action if I want, but I’m pleased with this.
There is another trick, actually — the Smart Button is magnetic, so you can remove it from its wallplate, carry it around, and stick it to your fridge or an included adhesive mini-mount.

Because Aqara Hubs have built-in speakers however, you can use the Wireless Mini Switch as an emergency button or even a doorbell, assuming you can find a more secure mount than Aqara’s stickers. The Switch is also inexpensive — it’s $18, and even adding an M2 Hub into the mix keeps your total at about $78 before tax. This one is a HomeKit exclusive, and requires an Apple TV or HomePod configured as a Home Hub. Within those admittedly tight limitations, the Eve Button is nice — it’s stylish, and shaped just right if you want to carry it in your pocket.
